Our Charities
We are part of the University of St Andrews Charities Campaign. Each year the students nominate and vote to select three charities to support - one local charity based in Fife, one national charity based in the UK and one international charity which aids people across the world.

This year the three chosen charities are: The Yard, CALM, and Women for Women International.

The Yard creates award-winning adventure play services for disabled children, young people and their families in the east of Scotland. Their purpose is to provide care, support and opportunities for fun and friendship for disabled children and young people. Additionally, they provide support for parents and families and the chance to take a break from the stress of everyday life.

CALM is a suicide prevention charity, focusing on male suicide which is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. They provide frontline services through their helpline, foster supportive communities and encourage people to speak out about their experiences through their campaign, to challenge male stereotypes and encourage positive behavioural changes.

Women for Women supports the most marginalised women in countries affected by conflict and war. Their programmes enable them to get their lives back on track by developing skills, knowledge and resources that allow women to create sustainable change. They have been making a difference in the lives of women for 25 years.
